Brooklyn Craft Company is a modern craft and DIY space located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Founded by DIY expert Brett Bara, it offers a wide range of classes and events, including sewing, quilting, knitting, crochet, and other creative activities.
The instructor was incredibly patient and explained everything in a way that made learning easy and fun. The class covered all the basics, from casting on to creating different stitches, and I was able to make a small project by the end. The atmosphere was welcoming, and I loved meeting others who shared the same interest. It was a relaxing and creative experience, and I can't wait to take more classes. Highly recommend for anyone looking to pick up knitting.

Craft Camp was such a success that it spawned a larger initiative, Brooklyn Craft Company: a 1400-square-foot space in a former pencil factory offering a full schedule of modern craft and DIY classes.

The instructor was excellent. Her teaching method made it easy to learn to knit. Her descriptions of how to apply the needle and yarn were funny and useful and allowed you to fully understand exactly what to do. She gave personal attention to everyone who needed it. She was engaging and delightful.

I gave up on sewing over 40 years ago. I always had trouble following the pattern and made so many mistakes. The instructor was excellent, and gave us step-by-step instructions. We did not have to rely on the pattern instructions which are often confusing. Students were at different levels but the instructor was patient and gave extra time to those
that needed more help. I was able to complete my project and love my PJ bottoms. A very fun day.

I booked last minute. Me and three other students. We learned basics of machine threading, measuring our selves, using a calculation to determine how to draw out and cut material. We sewed our individual elastic waist skirt and learned something. I missed the fine print to my own fabric, so I paid $45 for linen fabric at the shop. Plus $95 for the class. I now have a $140 hand made skirt.
