This 6 hour climbing and hiking excursion to Pinnacles National Park has something for everyone! If you have ever wanted to learn how to rock climb in the great outdoors, this full day of adventure will be a great beginning! Pinnacles offers a wide range of climbing possibilities, from beginning to experienced climbing. If you already know how to rock climb and want to climb outdoors, join us for a day of climbing and we will set up the routes!
For the beginners, we’ll help you get acquainted with the gear, offer instruction on technique, teach basic rock climbing safety, climbing knots, climbing commands, basic top roping techniques, rope management, an overview of the climbing rating system and get you on lots of climbs to build your confidence. This is a great opportunity to get exposure to climbing in a safe, supportive and nurturing environment.
For the intermediate and advanced climbers, take advantage of our guides’ expert knowledge of this famous climbing destination. Whether you are climbing 5.7 or 5.11, we’ll get you on a climb that will push your limits and expand your knowledge and technique.
Your day includes:
1 day of climbing & instruction. All your gear is included – climbing harness, climbing shoes, and all the necessary gear to rig a top rope (carabiners, ropes, webbing, cord, belay devices, etc).
Your packing list:
You will need to bring appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear for hiking to the climbing spots – snacks, water, and sunscreen are also highly recommended.
The clinic meets at Pinnacles National Park in Paicines, CA – approximately 30 minutes south of Hollister. Directions, maps, recommended packing lists, and other details will all be provided during the registration process.
