Class Description

Description

The art of clowning teaches us to cultivate full presence and authentic connection with others. This class draws on exercises and methodologies from renowned practitioners, including Jacques Lecoq, Jean Taylor, Merry Conway, Nader Farman, and Keith Johnstone. The curriculum is designed to move participants beyond self-consciousness and ego, fostering awareness of our shared humanity. As Nader Farman notes, "It's you, of course, the clown. And that's important."

Throughout the course, students will discover the universal language of clowning and its power to connect audiences across differences. The class creates a joyful and supportive environment where you can explore this art form with curiosity and playfulness. The course culminates in a class performance where students share what they have learned and created.

Please Note: Classes may end up to 30 minutes earlier than the scheduled time, depending on the total number of students enrolled.
