Unleash your creativity and hone your comedic skills in this introductory course that will help you bring your ideas to life through the art of sketch writing in this course at Brooklyn Comedy Collective.
This class is for anyone interested in learning the process of writing sketch comedy. Throughout the six-week course, we will discuss, practice, and polish scenes that will culminate in a show after the final week of class. Each week will focus on one specific part of the sketch comedy world. These include creating through improv, finding the “game” of a sketch, writing characters, and more!
Why do we love certain sketches? How does one go about writing a character? How do we create something from a blank page? Questions like these will be explored in a positive, low stakes/high fun environment. There is no magic key to unlocking great sketch comedy, but this introductory class will help beginning writers find some doors and start knocking.
Class payments are non-refundable.
In the event you have to drop a class before it begins and give us at least 8 business days notice, we can credit your tuition toward a future class.
In the event a class fails to meet a minimum number of sign-ups (6 enrollments), students will be notified by email and given the option to transfer into another class, keep a class credit on the books, or offered a full refund - whichever is preferable to the student.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
