Join us for this one day build of a live edge table. Live edge pieces are unique in that their construction does not take away from the wood's original shape and natural appearance. Each student will get to pick a flitch of locally harvested and kiln dried hardwood, then use draw knives, sanders, and other hand tools to remove any bark and smooth the live edge.
Students will cut their piece to custom dimensions followed by planing and smoothing. Finally, a set of legs will be attached. Each student will leave with their own coffee table ready for application with their choice of finish.
Materials fee to be paid directly to the school on the first day of class.
Joint Instruction - For an additional $75 fee, students are welcomed to bring a second builder to the class. This is a great opportunity to learn and have fun together. Joint instruction must be accompanied with someone taking the full instruction and purchasing a kit.
