Introduction to Computer Programming & Game Design

Like Computers and Video Games? Ever wished you could make your own Program or Game? Introducing SMB’s new class, Introduction to Computer Programming and Game Design for Kids. In this class, using a visual program called Scratch, developed by M.I.T., your child will have the ability to create their own computer programs from day 1.  

With Scratch, you can program your own interactive stories, games, and animations as well as share your creations with others in the online community, without the frustrations of learning actual code. Scratch does this with visual aids that to a child, building an application is as easy as connecting puzzle pieces together. Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively, essential skills for life in the 21st century. So come join us for this fun and interactive class that will give your child a head start in today’s fast-paced technological world.

Prerequisite: This class requires each student to bring in their own laptop to run application on.
