Alexandre de Vogüé

Alexandre de Vogüé is co-proprietor/manager of Vaux le Vicomte—the largest private property in France to be listed as a monument historique. He gives examples of le Nôtre's design audacity as well as the ongoing and ambitious program of botanical, architectural and landscape restoration he oversees together with his brother as fifth-generation owners of their landmark family estate. Taking their cues from a dozen 17th Century engravings showing the gardens when they were first laid out, they are reviving the spirit and soul of the original design.
